Dumler & Breiden was founded in 1883 by Peter Dümler and Albert Breiden. It was located in Hohr Grenzhausen. During the late 19th and early 20th century, they produced beer steins and punch bowls.
The main designers were Ernst Dumler, Paul Zimmerling and Rudolf Christmann.
This striking, West German, modernist ceramic, minimalist, handmade, hand-thrown, hand-decorated sgraffito technique. Sgraffito is a decorative technique that involves scratching through a layer of coloured slip (a thin liquid clay mixture) to reveal a different colour underneath. This technique is often used to create intricate patterns and designs on ceramics and other decorative objects.
This vase is finished with a matte look.
